How the arithmetic works

Concentration in mg/mL is the vial mass divided by the diluent volume. A 10 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL gives 5 mg/mL.

Draw volume is the target aliquot mass divided by that concentration. A 250 mcg aliquot from a 5 mg/mL solution is 0.25 mg ÷ 5 mg/mL = 0.05 mL, which reads as 5 units on a U-100 graduation.

Aliquot count is total vial mass divided by aliquot mass. The calculator flags any draw that exceeds the barrel capacity of the selected graduation.
