It is notable in the literature for its receptor selectivity relative to earlier secretagogues such as GHRP-6 and hexarelin, which is why it appears so often in comparative receptor-binding work.
The sequence contains two non-standard residues - aminoisobutyric acid at position 1 and D-2-naphthylalanine at position 3 - which is what gives it stability against the proteases that degrade all-L-amino-acid sequences.

Direct diluent gently against the inside wall of the vial rather than onto the cake, and allow the material to dissolve without agitation. Vortexing shears longer sequences and introduces air.
