A 0.6% v/v solution of glacial acetic acid in laboratory-grade purified water, supplied as a diluent for peptides that will not readily dissolve in neutral aqueous media.

Hydrophobic sequences and those with a high proportion of aromatic residues frequently need a mildly acidic environment to go fully into solution. At roughly pH 3.2 this solution is acidic enough to assist dissolution without being aggressive toward acid-labile bonds.

It is prepared and filtered at 0.22 micron, and each lot is verified for concentration and pH before release.

Vials arrive lyophilized and sealed under nitrogen. Bring the vial fully to room temperature before breaking the seal — opening a cold vial condenses atmospheric moisture onto the cake.

Direct diluent gently against the inside wall of the vial rather than onto the cake, and allow the material to dissolve without agitation. Vortexing shears longer sequences and introduces air.
