TB-500 is the synthetic acetylated form of the active region of Thymosin Beta-4, a 43-residue actin-sequestering peptide found across most mammalian tissue and one of the most abundant intracellular peptides characterised to date.
TB-500 is the synthetic acetylated form of the active region of Thymosin Beta-4, a 43-residue actin-sequestering peptide found across most mammalian tissue and one of the most abundant intracellular peptides characterised to date.
Its principal biochemical property in laboratory work is high-affinity binding to G-actin, which makes it a common reagent in cytoskeletal assays and actin-polymerisation studies. The single methionine residue makes it modestly susceptible to oxidation, so vials should be kept sealed and desiccated until use.
Because of its length and molecular weight, TB-500 reconstitutes more slowly than shorter sequences. Adding diluent down the vial wall and allowing the cake to dissolve without agitation gives a cleaner solution than vortexing.

Vials arrive lyophilized and sealed under nitrogen. Bring the vial fully to room temperature before breaking the seal — opening a cold vial condenses atmospheric moisture onto the cake.
Direct diluent gently against the inside wall of the vial rather than onto the cake, and allow the material to dissolve without agitation. Vortexing shears longer sequences and introduces air.
Lyophilized: -20 C, desiccated. Reconstituted: 2-8 C, use within 30 days.
A full walkthrough is in the reconstitution guide, and the calculator will work out concentration and draw volume for this vial size.
Standard laboratory practice applies: appropriate personal protective equipment, no consumption, no administration to humans or animals, and disposal in accordance with institutional protocol and local regulation.

It is a 43-residue sequence. Synthesis cost scales with chain length, and longer sequences require more coupling steps and more aggressive purification to reach 99%.
No. Agitation can shear longer sequences. Direct diluent against the glass wall and allow the cake to dissolve on its own.
Not identical. TB-500 is the synthetic acetylated fragment corresponding to the actin-binding region, not the full 43-residue native protein.
